Azur Lane - IJN Akagi [Blender]

Or otherise affectionately known by Shoukaku as : "Adverse Mentors of Distinction" or Bad Senpais

Notably one of the more popular Shipgirls for being one of the main characters in the Azur Lane: The Animation and her twisted personality of the yandere kitsune that will most definitely burn the neighbourhood down if you leave the house for one fucking minute because seperation anxiety, It was a no brainer I would gravitate towards making Akagi my Fourth BNPR Anime styled model.

BUT, she de-thrones Bismarck as being the most absolutely difficult Azur Lane characters I've modelled and rigged, primarily because of getting into a roadblock on how to model the kitsune tails as accurately to the source material as possible that it stalled the modelling progress for a fair amount of time, constant weight painting issues with her tails, and especially her Kimono, and that I had to edit the squash and stretch rigs for the sleeves of said kimono mid render because of jank weight painting.

Speaking of the Kimono, the Anime was very inconsistent whether it had the gold ornate printing in one scene to just being plain burgundy brown in others. so I made it easier on myself and opted for the latter.

despite the hurdles, I do plan to make her sister Kaga.

HOPEFULLY it should be smooth sailing from there.
